Easy Alfredo
1 tbs. butter
1 tbs. flour
1 cup milk
1 cup heavy cream
¾ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. ground pepper
¾ - 1 cup grated fresh parmesan cheese
Melt butter in saucepan. Add flour. Cook stirring constantly – it will form a thick paste. Whisk in 1 cup of milk, 1 cup cream, the salt and pepper. Bring it to a gentle boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally for a few min. Stir in fresh parmesan and heat through. Do not boil. Serve over fettuccine.
